What you’ve got on paper...: Page 2
EAS-torque limiting clutches are operated in the falling range of the cup spring characteristic curve. This has a highly positive influence on the behaviour of the clutch on overload. If the torque exceeds the set value due to an operational malfunction or collision, the clutch disengages, but the cup springs remain pre-tensioned. Due to the operation in the falling characteristic curve area, the torque no longer increases, but drops immediately.
During adjustment, the technician can see on the test stand monitor whether the cup springs are correctly pre-tensioned into their falling range. The disengagement torque on the clutch is measured and represented together with the permitted torque limits as a curve. If the disengagement torque lies outside of the permitted limits, the technician can correct the value by turning the adjusting nut manually.

- Wenn alle Messwerte im zulässigen Toleranzbereich liegen, gibt das System grünes Licht für das Erfassen der Seriennummer. Kupplung und Messdaten werden damit einander eindeutig zugeordnet und protokolliert.
Generally, minimal corrections of a few angular degrees are required. High production quality with narrow tolerances, highquality materials and hardened functional components ensure that the deviations between the individual clutches are very minor. After securing the adjustment nut against unintentional movement, the installation and adjustment of the first clutch is finished. The other clutches then follow the same procedure. During the inspection for torque adjustment, the test stand disengages each clutch several times in both rotational directions and compares the measured values with the standard. If the torque lies within the permitted tolerance in all disengagement procedures, the system ends the adjustment and inspection procedure. When the serial number is typed in, the clutch and measurement data are clearly assigned with each other, and recorded in a protocol. This means that, even after years, each individual clutch can be traced as to when it was delivered and with which order number and torque adjustment it was sent. If required, the system can produce a protocol and print it as a word file. Due to the permanent storage of the inspection data, it is possible to find information from many years ago, should questions arise which need clarification, for example. mayr power transmission has developed and produced mechanical torque limiting clutches for 50 years, and are the worldwide leaders in this product field. The company offer the widest product palette of load holding, load separating, torque and force limiting, frictionally-locking, positive-locking, magnetic, controllable and switchable torque limiting clutches.
