The lightweight coupling for torque transducers: ROBA® DS Type 9120
The new aluminum version of the proven ROBA® DS for torque transducers Type 9120 combines low weight with improved power density. Ideal for speed-critical applications and demanding test bench technology.
Aluminum hubs and modules
Up to 60% lower mass and moment of inertia compared to the steel version
Nickel-plated surface for enhanced corrosion protection
Compact construction – outer diameter reduced by up to 10 mm
Designed for speeds up to 32,000 rpm
Compatible with HBM/HBK torque transducers
Backlash-free torque transmission even under high load cycles
Reliable overload protection at high speeds
If the torque on a test bench exceeds the limit set on the torque limiter, the coupling disengages and separates the input and output within a fraction of a second. After an overload event, the worst-case scenario is that the measuring shaft needs to be recalibrated – but costly damage to the drive line or the test specimen is reliably prevented by the torque limiter.

Safety brakes for test benches: reliable protection for people and equipment
Test benches for automotive drives often include vertical axes and linear movements that need to be reliably secured – whether during ongoing testing, maintenance, or in the event of a fault. The extensive portfolio of mayr® safety brakes for test benches includes
Rail brakes, such as the ROBA® guidestop®
Piston rod brakes, such as the ROBA® linearstop
Motor brakes, such as the ROBA-stop M®
The brake speaks: smart modules for intelligent monitoring
Constant, meaningful data streams are essential in modern test environments. The ROBA® brake-checker® module monitors safety brakes without sensors while simultaneously supplying them with power. In combination with the ROBA® gateway module, the solution becomes network-capable: brake data can be read out via an Ethernet connection and visualized on a dashboard. Anomalies in the testing process can be detected early, maintenance becomes plannable, and downtime can be minimized.
