Renewable energy is more essential than ever, but generation must be safe and efficient. Technical developments and new standards such as DIN EN 81-44 are also posing challenges for component manufacturers. At WindEnergy Hamburg, we will be showcasing our application-optimized safety brakes for pitch and yaw drives, as well as standards-compliant solutions for service lifts and smart brake monitoring. Meet our experts on site and learn more about our portfolio for wind power.
Experience innovation: our highlights at WindEnergy Hamburg 2026
The perfect range – the right solution for every application
In the pitch segment, mayr® offers a wide range of braking solutions for servo motors. In addition to the ROBA-stop M® pitch brake, the ROBA® servostop® series provides further braking solutions that can be mounted on the A or B side of the motor and are designed for temperatures up to 120°C. They impress with their low mass inertia. For A-side flanged designs, the ROBA® alphastop® brakes are ideally suited when the motor has an extended shaft or the braking system is designed with an integrated shaft.
The ROBA® topstop® safety brake remains on the system even when the motor has been removed. This eliminates the need for additional safety measures to prevent unwanted movement of rotor blades or the nacelle. These modular systems are available with precisely fitting mounting flanges, allowing them to be flexibly integrated into existing drives.
Beyond the pitch segment, users can also rely on specially developed and tested mayr® safety brakes for yaw drives.
Sensorless monitoring – data for intelligent safety
The ROBA® brake-checker® enables brake monitoring without additional sensors. The module monitors the movement of the armature disk and outputs the determined switching state.
This facilitates planned maintenance, and users can systematically investigate critical conditions such as insufficient supply voltage, incorrectly dimensioned supply lines, elevated coil temperature, and increased air gap. The safety and reliability of brakes improve, while maintenance planning can be optimized and downtime avoided.
The additional ROBA® gateway module makes the solution network-capable, enabling the captured data to be integrated into existing remote maintenance systems or used to build digital twins, for example.
