The ROBA® pinionstop is a safety brake with an integrated pinion shaft or an integrated shaft that can be fitted with a pinion. It is intended as an additional braking system for axes with a toothed rack drive. The brake pinion directly locks into the toothed rack at any required position and therefore operates independently of the drive motor. This means that the ROBA® pinionstop can also be retrofitted relatively easily into existing designs and, in combination with another brake (e.g. an existing motor brake), allows easy implementation of a redundant, multi-purpose braking system.
