The ROBA®‑secustop is a spring-applied, electromagnetic safety brake.

The braking torque 1 in the brake body is generated via the contact force of several thrust springs using frictional locking between both friction linings of the rotor, the armature disk, and the flange plate or machine wall.

The braking torque 2 is generated between both friction linings of the rotor, the armature disk, and the coil carrier. The brake is released electromagnetically.
