The safe brake control ROBA® SBCplus® (Safe Brake Control) is used to control and monitor two ROBA-stop® safety brakes, especially in applications which have to fulfill requirements regarding personal protection according to the standards for functional reliability, e.g. DIN EN ISO 13849 and DIN EN IEC 62061.
To safely interrupt the power supply of the magnetic coil when switching off, the ROBA® SBCplus® uses wear-free electronic semiconductors instead of contactors. It also includes the function of a ROBA® switch 24V and a spark quenching unit. The biggest advantage of the ROBA® SBCplus® is the manufacturer-side parameterization of the brake-specific safety algorithms, which makes it much easier for the machine manufacturer to achieve the required performance level or SIL level.
