The spark quenching unit is used to prevent the formation of sparks on the switching contacts when switching off inductive loads DC side (e.g. safety brakes). As all supply modules made by mayr® are already equipped with an integrated spark quenching unit, a separate spark quenching unit or alternative protective circuit is only required in some cases.
