The EAS®‑compact is a positive-locking, ratchetting, or disengaging torque limiter based on the ball-detent principle. The clutch protects the drive line from excessively high, unpermitted torque impacts which can occur due to unintentional blockages.
Function on disengagement
When the set torque is exceeded (overload case), the transmitting mechanism is completely disconnected. Only the bearing friction continues to have an effect. The clutch must be re-engaged.
