The EAS®‑HTL is a positive-locking, ratchetting, disengaging torque limiter based on the ball-detent principle. The clutch protects the drive line from excessively high, unpermitted torque impacts which can occur due to unintentional blockages.
Function with ratchetting/synchronous
If the set torque is exceeded (overload), the clutch disengages, and there is a residual torque of approx. 5 – max. 15 % of the set torque. When the overload is taken away, the clutch engages in the engagement position itself.
Function on disengagement
If the set torque is exceeded (overload), the clutch disengages. The transmitting mechanism is completely disconnected. Only the bearing friction continues to have an effect. The clutch must be re-engaged.
