The EAS®‑reverse is a positive-locking, disengaging overload clutch based on the ball-detent principle.
If the set limit torque is exceeded (overload), the clutch disengages and separates the input and output almost without any residual torque. The overload clutch re-engages automatically in any angular position simply by rotating backwards slowly.
