EAS®-smartic®: The space-optimized torque limiting clutch

The EAS®-smartic® is a positive-locking, mechanical torque limiter based on the ball-detent principle.

The clutch protects the drive line from excessively high, unpermitted torque impacts which can occur due to unintentional blockages. If the set torque is exceeded (overload), the clutch disengages, and there is a residual torque of approx. 5 – max. 20 % of the set torque. When the overload is taken away, the clutch engages itself when it reaches the re-engagement position after 360°.
