ROBA® contitorque: The consistent-torque continuous slip clutch with magnetic hysteresis principle

The ROBA® contitorque is a load-holding torque limiting clutch based on the magnetic hysteresis principle. In contrast to the ROBA® slip hub, the ROBA® contitorque works contactlessly, is wear-free and enables very precise torque limitation - but has a lower performance density. In comparison to permanent magnet clutches, the ROBA® contitorque provides a consistent torque in the event of overload (slippage).

The ROBA® contitorque is available in an aluminum or a stainless steel version - the latter is also used in the ROBA® capping head. Another application of the ROBA® contitorque is tension control when unwinding film, yarn, wire, etc.
