Les redresseurs à pont et redresseurs semi-onde sont utilisés pour raccorder des récepteurs en courant continu à des alimentations en tension alternative. Ces récepteurs peuvent être des freins électromagnétiques (gamme ROBA-stop®, ROBA® quick), des embrayages (ROBATIC®), des électro-aimants, des électrovalves, des contacteurs, des moteurs à courant continu, etc. Outre le redressement de la tension alternative d’entrée, les pics de tension qui apparaissent lors de la déconnexion de charges inductives et qui peuvent endommager l’isolation ainsi que les contacts sont limités et la charge des contacts est réduite.
