A step into the future: mayr® power transmission to expand its management

With Ferdinand Mayr, the grandson of Fritz Mayr, the fifth generation is now to enter the management at mayr® power transmission. In this way, three Chief Executive Officers will in future work across the generations to provide safety, reliability and innovation. The Allgäu-based family-run company mayr® power transmission is to expand its management team: Ferdinand Mayr is to be designated Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect. In this way, the fifth generation of the Mayr family is to take over responsibility for the company founded in 1897. Ferdinand Mayr, the grandson of Fritz Mayr, is to share the management role with Fritz Mayr, who in turn is the grandson of the company founder, and Günther Klingler, who manages the national and international activities of mayr® power transmission as Chief Executive Officer. Ferdinand Mayr will in future be focusing on the digitalization of the company and, together with CEO Günther Klingler, will be controlling the finances and strategic decisions made by the Mayr group. "Since its foundation in 1897, the company mayr ® power transmission has remained an autonomous, independent family-run company. Since the company’s foundation, we have stood for innovation and maximum quality. We are extremely proud of this fact, and adhere to our principles although our world is changing rapidly and fundamentally”, says Ferdinand Mayr. "I therefore see it as one of my most important tasks to master the challenges presented through increasing networking, digitalization and Industry 4.0, and to utilize the opportunities they offer us." At the Hannover Messe (Trade Fair) 2019, mayr® power transmission was able to show numerous visitors including the Economic Secretary Roland Weigert how these challenges are specifically addressed in its portfolio. The intelligent module ROBA® brake-checker detects, for example, the movement of the armature disk through the analysis of current and voltage and knows at all times in which condition the brake currently is. In addition to the switching condition, temperature and wear, the ROBA® brake-checker also monitors pull-in distance or tensile force reserve, i.e. whether the magnet is still able to attract the armature disk. With this module, mayr® power transmission is the only company to have an intelligent solution for the sensorless monitoring of electromagnetic brakes in its standard portfolio.
