The load separating torque limiting clutches, such as the torque limiters of the EAS® -series or the force limiting linear clutch EAS®-axial, transmit the torque or the force form locking. The limiting torque is generated via the pre-tensioning of disk springs. Load separating torque limiting clutches separate input and output in case of overload or collision, this means that they interrupt the torque or force transmission.

  • Disengaging overload clutches:
    The disengaging design of our torque limiters separates completely and almost residual torque-free. The clutch remains in this disengaged position until it is re-engaged manually or by means of devices.  Disengaging torque limitingclutches are therefore also particularly suitable for high-speed drives or drives with large mass moments of inertia. The stored rotational energy can run out freely here in the event of a collision.
     
  • Latching torque limiting clutches:
    Input and output are also separated by clutches of the latching type in the event of an overload. In contrast to disengaging versions, however, a  latchingsafety clutch is immediately ready for operation again after the fault has been rectified. Ratcheting clutches automatically re-engage every 15 degrees, synchronous clutches after 360 degrees.
