mayr® industrial brakes comply with common international standards and regulations. The specific standards depend on the respective application. Most of the electromagnetic industrial brakes from mayr® are CSA certified and UL compliant.  

Industrial brakes are classified as safety brakes. At mayr®, we equate the term safety brakes with the fail-safe principle: our spring-applied safety brakes are closed in their de-energized state. If the power is turned off or unexpectedly fails, our brakes close by means of spring force, which ensures reliable and safe braking of machines and systems in any position.
