Tested quality

Comprehensive quality consciousness is firmly rooted in our company philosophy. The high-quality, functionally safe mayr^® products are subject to thorough quality checks. These include quality assurance measures during the construction process as well as a comprehensive final inspection before any shipment leaves our plant. To carry out the checks, mayr^® power transmission has a diverse range of calibrated test stands at its disposal. An electronic database in which the measurement values are archived together with the associated serial numbers guarantees 100 % traceability.

Independent testing and certification bodies confirm the company’s quality management as well as the safety of mayr^® products.

Safety Brakes

ROBA-stop^®-safety brakes are CSA certified and UL-conform. This means that they are recognised and approved almost all over the world. ROBA-stop-M brakes can also be used in areas where there is a danger of explosion according to the 94/9/EC (ATEX) directive. Please state your requests! The following safety brake type series used in elevator and stage technology naturally also have the obligatory EC type examination certificate from the South German TÜV (Technical Inspectorate):

The pneumatic design of the ROBA^®-linearstop has been tested and confirmed by the TÜV SÜD Industrie Service GmbH as a full-quality dynamic braking device. It fulfils without question the basic test principles for emergency braking actions and holding function for linear movements (GS-MF-28) issued by the Berufsgenossenschaftlichen Instituts für Arbeitsschutz (Trade Association Institute for Occupational Protection).
And another design of the ROBA^®-linearstop, the pneumatic clamping unit, has been certified by the TÜV SÜD Industrie Service GmbH. In addition to the required test criteria for holding brakes, 100 dynamic braking procedures were conducted during the test – and the brake was also able to fulfil these requirements without any trouble at all.

Our dust and water-resistant monoblock brake, the ROBA-stop^®-S, holds the Germanic Lloyd certificate and the "Certificate of Design Assessment" from the ABS Technical Office for application in ships, off-shore plants, sea harbours or other areas with critical ambient conditions.

The cold climate version of the ROBA-stop^®-M wind power brake is certified by Germanic Lloyd (GL) for applications to temperatures of -40 °C.

Torque Limiters

In contrast to other products, torque limiters require no licenses, certificates or type examinations worldwide. The EAS brand stands for reliability, precision and quality in this product area. These characteristics have made mayr power transmission the global market leader in the area of torque limiters. We set the standards for reliable overload protection. EAS torque limiters are produced at our certified plant in the Allgäu region, where many other safety-critical products are manufactured, and where the highest standard of quality is obligatory. Our demands on quality are unique. We inspect every single EAS product before it is delivered in detail on special test stands, and keep a protocol of the results together with the serial number. Our development and field experience pays off for you. Millions of EAS torque limiters have reliably prevented overload damage for more than 50 years.

In case of operation in difficult environmental conditions, such as at sea, mayr^® power transmission therefore develops individual, tailor-made solutions to protect against overload, and has these products certified by recognised inspection authorities such as the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) .

Safely underway on the high seas

The high-performance and robust ROBA^®-DS disk pack couplings are especially suited for operations in extreme environmental conditions at sea. The type approval up to construction size 2200 by the DNV GL confirms the high quality and reliability of the couplings and ensures maximum possible operating safety on the high seas.

As a company we are responsible for the world of tomorrow. Intact nature and the preservation of our livelihood for our children and future generations are very close to our hearts. Sustainable management has shaped our corporate philosophy since the company was founded. Since 2020 Mayr power transmission is climate-neutral. To achieve our sustainability goals, we rely on a comprehensive series of measures ranging from our own power generation to minimizing paper consumption and purchasing climate certificates. This makes us one of the first in the branch to voluntarily compensate for our emissions under the Kyoto Protocol.
