The ROBA®-servostop® Cobot is a closed-circuit, electromagnetic safety brake.
When the brake is applied, a rotor disc with friction lining pads is held between the armature disc and the flange plate via frictional locking. When the current of the built-in solenoid coil is switched on, the magnetic field pulls the armature disc towards the coil carrier against the force of the springs. The brake is released and the armature disc with the friction lining can rotate freely.
