Thanks to its modular design, the ROBA®‑diskstop® can be used for applications with very high braking torque requirements.
Outdoor applications and operating conditions with >60% duty cycle must be technically clarified in advance.
The ROBA®-diskstop® brake is a spring-applied, electromagnetic safety brake.
In the de-energized state, springs press the armature disk against the brake disk. The brake disk is held between the friction pads.
If voltage is applied, due to the magnetic force of the coil in the coil carrier, the armature disk is attracted against the spring pressure to the coil carrier. The brake is released, and the brake disk can rotate freely.
