The mayr® multi-plate clutches, like all shaft clutches, do not have any mechanics. Therefore, they cannot be switchable due to their design. They only connect shafts and compensate for misalignment, flexible shaft couplings additionally dampen vibrations and torque fluctuations. To limit torques or for applications where switchable clutches are required, mayr® power transmission offers a wide range of suitable torque limiting clutches or electromagnetic clutches.
