The ROBA-stop®-stage is a spring-applied, electromagnetically releasing dual circuit safety brake for use as a holding brake with occasional EMERGENCY STOP braking actions.
In de-energized condition, several thrust springs press against both armature disks. The rotors are held between the armature disks and the intermediate disk. The braking torque is introduced into the drive line via the toothing of the rotors and the hub.
Applying voltage to the coils in the coil carriers generates a magnetic force. It attracts the armature disks against the spring pressure to the coil carriers. The brake is released, and the rotors with the hub can rotate freely.
The ROBA-stop®-stage brakes reliably and safely in the event of a power switch-off, a power failure, or an EMERGENCY STOP.
